Our rates for Reservers won’t break the bank. We’re Industry, too, and we built this platform to solve your shift coverage problems, not create new ones. There's a rule of thumb that the cost is typically 1.25 to 1.4 times the salary, depending on certain variables. So, if you pay someone minimum wage in Washington State at $14.49 per hour, your cost is actually $18.11 to $20.29 an hour right now. Per the Small Business Administration, hiring an employee means considerable payroll tax costs, including: •Employer share of FICA (7.65% on compensation up to the annual wage base, which is $132,900 in 2019, plus 1.45% on compensation over the annual wage base). •Federal unemployment tax (FUTA) of $42 per employee. The FUTA tax rate is 6%, but most employers can take a FUTA credit of 5.4%, resulting in a mere 0.6%. •State unemployment tax, which varies with your state and your claims experience (the more claims made by former employees for unemployment benefits, the higher your state unemployment tax rate will be).
Reservers are independent contractors, not employees. You'll receive an invoice for the total owed for the hourly base rate for your labor coverage. This invoice for services is tax deductible for your business. When you create your business account, we'll collect information to connect you with the Reservers best suited for your business. We also share this information with the Reserver pool when posting a shift to be picked up. Great examples are: Dive Bar vs. Fine Dining bartenders Cooks who run food Specific POS systems Bartenders with pull tab experience Other unique elements of your businesses offerings to customers
Tips are to be paid to Reservers upon the completion of their shift. If your restaurant's policy is to send tips the next day with a card payment, we will disclose that in your shift posting for Reservers to evaluate in selecting a shift. Our independent contractors are responsible to claim tips for tax purposes. Want to work with us, but this policy doesn't work with your business? Send us an email and we'll chat. info@servereserves.com
Reservers are still write offs, and we provide you a receipt/invoice for their time and shift, including an annotation of any tips digitally submitted with your payment. No HR involved, no employer taxes for you, just easy shift coverage when you need it.
Looking to Hire? We host a list of open permanent or seasonal roles for our Reservers to submit applications. We also can post your role with opportunities for top talent to book Working Interviews if you choose. When Reservers submit their profiles, you'll be able to click and book a working interview with a flat hourly invoiced rate to see if you're a mutual fit.
Reservers are top talent. They're the industry pros who know how to adapt on the fly and make their jobs look easy. We send an overview of your business, POS system, dress code and category (dive bar, sports bar, etc.) to Reservers within the Open Shift notifications. We do make every effort to offer open shifts to Reservers with a direct match to your business, and as our Company grows, we'll have a larger pool to choose from and match you with. For now, our Reservers have a 4.8 out of 5 star ratings for excellent performance in the field.
Nope! Reservers are independent contractors and have no uniforms. We do, however, give them the preferred dress overview you send with your account creation with each Open Shift. Reservers want 5 star ratings, and want to make you and your business a raving fan. If you have a specific shirt you'd like them to wear, just note it in the "Preferred Dress" section and we'll relay it to them prior to accepting the shift.
